World Menopause Day
Women’s health can sometimes feel like it is a never-ending battle. As we grow older, it seems as though there are many battles we will have to face. Menopause, perimenopause, and postmenopause are stages in a woman’s life when her monthly period stops. This is the end of a woman’s reproductive years. Symptoms of menopause can be frustrating and may feel like you have gone from experiencing monthly period pains to a new normal of menopausal discomfort. Please know that you are not alone in this experience. In collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Menopause Society has designated October as World Menopause Awareness Month. Specifically, October 18th is celebrated as World Menopause Awareness Day. The day’s purpose is to raise awareness of menopause and the support options available for improving health and wellbeing. We encourage professionals and women from all walks of life to inform themselves and those around them of the options available to help women combat the discomfort of menopause. Contact Graceful Gynecology & Wellness today to learn more about how you can contribute to the knowledge and support of the women around you.
Take Back Control
Menopause does not have to stop you from living the life you desire to live. Although the symptoms can sometimes feel debilitating, there is a solution to your uneasiness. At Grace Gynecology & Wellness, we offer a wide range of treatment systems to help women feel confident and free in their bodies. We offer hormone replacement therapy for women struggling with menopause symptoms. As part of your treatment with us, our specialists will create an ideal treatment plan to help improve your symptoms. For women, hormone replacement therapy can be used to restore inner balance and improve moderate to severe menopause symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, mood changes, and more.
Breast Cancer Awareness & The Importance of Early Detection.
1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime. Additional factors such as family history or a previous atypical biopsy can increase a woman’s lifetime risk of developing breast cancer. If you think you may have breast cancer, you need a reliable diagnosis from a doctor you can trust. The only way to know for sure if you have breast cancer is to undergo a mammogram. A mammogram is an X-ray of the breast that will indicate to your specialist whether you need to be concerned about a possible cancer diagnosis. The reason that mammograms reduce the risk of death from breast cancer is that routine mammograms help find breast cancers when they are small, decreasing the number of women diagnosed with advanced breast cancer. Given that mammograms are a less than 10-minute process, there is no reason to put off this all-important and potentially life-saving screening exam. Contact your doctor as soon as possible to set up your routine screening and talk with the women in your life about the importance of their bodies and prevention.
